Step One: Phone Consultation
Therapy with Stephanie starts with a free 30 minute consultation by phone to discuss what you are looking for in therapy.
Step Two: Initial Session
The initial session is a consultation to explore your current difficulties in greater detail. Meeting for an initial session is important because it will allow you to get to know Stephanie, ask questions, and gauge whether you feel comfortable working with her. Equally, this session allows Stephanie to assess whether she is the right therapist for you. This session may be scheduled for up to 90 minutes, or continue over two 50 minute sessions.
Step Three: Ongoing Sessions
If you decide to pursue therapy with Stephanie, regular sessions would be arranged. Most people have one 50 minute therapy session once a week. Specialized treatment, such as EMDR or Grief Movement, usually ranges from 50 to 120 minutes. There may be times when a different session frequency might be more appropriate and this is something to discuss with Stephanie. You have a voice and choice in your therapy with Stephanie. Depending on location and situation, sessions may be held online or face-to-face.
Step four : Ending therapy
Therapy does not last forever. Some people attend therapy for six sessions, others sixty sessions. The duration of your therapy with Stephanie is specific to your situation. You are free to end therapy at any time. The outcome of investing in therapy is gaining better perspective on what prompted you to seek therapy, a more thorough understanding of yourself, and growth in resiliency.
